Floral Lapel Pins For The Dapper Man
Many of you have noticed that floral lapel pins have been making a comeback. The problem I have been encountering is finding one that is unique to those that are out in the marketplace. During Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York City I had the honor of attending a show for Darkoh. Darkoh collaborated with some other brands to accessorize the collection. One of those brands was Hayes Hamilton.
I had the privilege of meeting Hayes at an event after the show and learned more about his collection. Hayes has been in the design world for several years. He branched out and created this exquisite collection and says, “this is for the gentleman who wants to wear something other than a pocket square.” There are a couple of design characteristics that outshine other lapel pins. Hayes found a way to use magnets to adhere the pin to your lapel which is pictured at the top left and right images. This is a brilliant move on his part since pins tend to break the fibers on your lapel leaving visible marks. In addition, he chose to use exotic skins such as cobra, crocodile and lizard as well as leather and suede for a more masculine approach. All of the pins are handmade in New York City. There are two style offerings ranging from a single floral pin and a double floral pin pictured to the right. Prices range from $100.00-$150.00 for a single and $175.00-$275.00 for a double depending on the chosen skin.
Currently he is in discussions with major retailers such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Barney’s New York and Bergdorf Goodman. Until then, if you want to get one now, reach out to him through his website and I am sure he would be happy to send one to you directly. Remember gents, looking and feeling good is all that matter.
