Gant By Michael Bastian Fall/Winter 2014
This post is special considering that this is the final collection that Michael Bastian will be collaborating with GANT. The ninth and final collection, based on the theme of high school football, drawing inspiration from the television show ‘Friday Night Lights‘. Michael and the team decided to bring back previous best sellers and personal favorites, which will be available in limited quantities with a special commemorative label. Michael is quoted by saying. “My last collection for GANT feels a lot like our first season. We’ve been on quite an amazing journey together, and it feels good to really take things full circle.”
Michael Bastian’s collaboration with GANT played a pivotal role in revitalizing the brand in recent years. One, among several milestone’s the company achieved was bringing GANT’s introduction to New York Fashion Week with a series of unique presentations and events that drew international interest and global exposure. His partnership with GANT grew from two to four collections per year, the launch of his first-ever women’s collection, and launched several limited-edition accessories collections including timepieces and eyewear. During his tenure, Michael was nominated for GQ’s Best New Menswear Designer in America, and won CFDA Menswear Designer of the Year.
I would like to thank Emily Schumann, Public Relations Manager at GANT, for sharing the collection with us. A special thank you goes to Michael Bastian. After nine spectacular seasons Michael takes his bow. Job well done!!
