I’ll Take A Letter J Please
Recently on my journey through the trendy Chelsea section of NYC I had the pleasure of coming across a new store front named Letter J. Nestled among the illustrious art galleries, fellow New Yorker Jason Somerfeld, created a space that lends itself to an art installation that houses exclusive brands as well as others full of color. Jason who has been in the fashion industry for other companies got tired of working for someone else and took the leap to open his own establishment. The light and airy space has music playing from the 80’s that puts you in the mood to shop.
He chose his merchandise carefully so that all the brands work back to each other effortlessly. He has the exclusive rights to sell certain brands such as Ever, Freedom Artist and Ambition. These brands have some commonality to them but have their distinct individuality with a large following. I was surprised to see another brand that I had not seen in a very long time Boy London, which he has the exclusive rights to as well in NYC. All of the clothing is casual with basic styling and details that make them unique. The selection ranges from skater to prep to classic clothing from Hartford. Two of my personal favorites Orlebar Brown and Burkman Brothers are merchandised brilliantly on nesting tables for you to easily find your size. The prices are reasonable and the staff is very helpful.
If you are in the New York City area or planning a visit, make sure you stop and see for yourself what a beautiful store and fantastic fashions they offer. Say hello to Jason and tell him The Refined Gent sent you. Remember gents, looking and feeling good is all that matters…..
