Joseph Abboud Tailored Perfection
Well without a doubt Joseph Abboud made his mark on NYFWM last week. The setting? Well leave it to Joseph to out do himself by having it at St. Stephens Church in midtown Manhattan. The setting made you feel like you were at a runway show in Milan. A sting orchestra created by Javier Peral played ominous music to set the tone. The lighting was on point. Attention to detail was clearly noted. Celebrating thirty years in business the collection, like a fine wine, has only gotten better with time.
American gothic was the theme of the evening emphasizing luxurious fabrications, saturated colors and brocades that seem to have become part of his DNA of the brand. Joseph took current trends such as hoodies and attached some to his shearling and woolen topcoats. Joseph Abboud,” explains the overall mood of the collection was further enhanced by his decision to hold the show in a deconsecrated church. “I was deeply inspired by the striking architecture of Gothic cathedrals, which is reflected in the construction of the clothing—lapels are exaggerated, coats are sweeping, cape-like, and our signature Traced Fit™ is slightly relaxed to allow for ease of movement.”
One ensemble that stood out among the fifty looks was the image below combing tailored clothing with a modern twist adding the riding boots to complete the look. Keeping with the modern theme this look made the fashionistos gasp. The pony hair topcoat paired up with a Savile Row tailored suit and finishing it off with the right accessories will have everyone turning heads.
