Lacoste Collectors Edition For Xmas
With the holidays upon us, trying to figure out what to get your special gent a gift can be a challenge. Lacoste collaborated with world renowned artist Peter Saville to celebrate their 80th anniversary by creating a special polo just for them.
Rather than changing the iconic shape or styling of the polo shirt, Peter decided to use his whimsical creativity by offering one of a kind images of the iconic crocodile logo. Peter explains his thought process by challenging the brand identity. He’s quoted by saying, “when we create art we ask questions, whereas traditionally design gives answers.” The issue here is that Lacoste’s logo is so inherent to the brands identity that it stays present even when it no longer resembles itself. His conclusion is that the Lacoste identity is immortal.
There are 80 styles created globally in size 4 in classic optic white with the signature green color of the logo.
