Lacoste Fall/Winter 2013 Collection
This evening we have been invited to the DETAILS magazine party as they celebrate The Makers Experience Exhibition. They have chosen Lacoste as a partner in this celebration. Therefore, we felt that this would be a good time to share their Fall/Winter 2013 collection .
From the outset, and ever since his first collection, Felipe Oliveira Baptista draws attention to this lesser-known side of Rene Lacoste, the inventor. The focus is on its iconic pique fabric which made the brand so popular. The fabric is manipulated in various techniques such as double-faced or thermal bonded with Milano sweater stitch, leather or pique jersey. The petite pique appears both familiar and different. The hybrid lines are as supple as they are static, both urban and technical, and they mix fitted pieces with protective oversize items. Functionality is the new chic and has become the Lacoste guideline.
The colors for the season focus around an intense palette of faux primary colors — blue, green, and also bright oranges shakes up shades of white, greys and dark greens. Materials focus around petit pique in all its guises, double-faced, contrasts between knits, cotton canvas, double-faced wool, boiled wool and mohair.
I hope you enjoy the collection as much as we did. Special thanks goes to Austin Smedstad at Lacoste for sharing their images with The Refined Gent.
